OAK PARK, Ill.—

If you pull through a restaurant’s drive-thru lane to grab some fast food, you may have to hold off on digging in to that combo meal if you’re driving through Oak Park.

Oak Park is cracking down on distracted drivers, and this time they’re targeting people who eat and drive.

Village officials are discussion a possible ban on eating, drinking and grooming behind the wheel. Village trustee Collette Lueck is behind the push. She says the idea is all about public safety.
